Notice to Insurers Writing Commercial Liability Coverage |
Companies writing commercial liability coverage for home improvement contractors in New Jersey should be aware that, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 56:8-136, et seq. and N.J.A.C. 13:45A-17.1, et seq., such contractors are required to be registered with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs in the Department of Law and Public Safety. Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:45A-17.5(c) applications for initial registrations and for annual renewals are required to include proof of coverage under a commercial general liability policy in the minimum amount of $500,000 per occurrence that complies with the requirements of N.J.A.C. 13:45A-17.12.
