Commissioner’s Symposium Set to Provide the
Banking Outlook for a “New” New Jersey

 

TRENTON – “Banking Outlook for a ‘New’ New Jersey,” a day-long commissioner’s symposium that will include discussion and panels on state and federal regulatory changes, the Garden State economic forecast, the mergers and acquisition market, the state political scene and more will be held on December 1, 2010 at Battleground Country Club in Manalapan, New Jersey. Governor Chris Christie is the invited keynote speaker.

Sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance and the Conference of State Bank Supervisors, the symposium will include state and national experts who will cover every aspect of the New Jersey banking and financial services scene.

Symposium attendees will learn the latest state economic predictions from Caren S. Franzini, CEO, New Jersey Economic Development Authority; James W. Hughes, Ph.D., Dean, Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, Rutgers University; and Kurt W. Rotthoff, Ph.D., Department of Finance, Stillman School of Business, Seton Hall University.

Representatives from three New York investment firms, Sandler, O’Neill & Partners; Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, and Friedman, Billings & Ramsey, will discuss the mergers and acquisitions landscape.

John Ryan from the Conference of State Bank Supervisors will discuss the implications of the recently enacted. A press roundtable discussion featuring Josh Margolin of the Star-Ledger, Nick Acocella of Politifax and Steve Kornacki of Salon.com., will include a discussion of current issues and state politics.
