Peter A. Eschbach

Peter A. Eschbach is the Director of External Affairs and Communications for the Delaware River Basin Commission. He is responsible for developing, maintaining and leveraging DRBC relationships with key stakeholders, as well as development and implementation of the Commission’s external and internal communications and outreach strategy and objectives. Additionally, Eschbach is responsible for the Commission’s onsite and offsite security operations.

Throughout the span of his more than 20-year career in communications which started as a public affairs officer for the U.S. Army’s Rapid Deployment Force, Eschbach has worked for several Fortune 500 companies, developing and executing global strategic public relations, marketing communications and internal communications. Prior to joining DRBC, he was the Director of Communications and External Communications for American Water’s Northeast Division.

The International Association of Business Communicators has awarded Eschbach twice with its top award, the Gold Quill, both times for strategic communications programs. He has spoken on various communications topics at conferences and seminars around the world. Additionally, he has been published in several professional periodicals, including: Communication World, The Magazine for Communication Management, Melcrum Comms Hub and PR News.

Eschbach holds a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., and a M.S. in Communications Management from the SI Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y.
