Based upon a shared vision for character development, as well as academic enrichment and remediation, this program will support the curriculum utilized in the Jersey City Public Schools. Realizing that reading is our greatest challenge in the school, this program also plans to provide activities to promote homework assistance, as well as tutoring for at-risk students.  Participants will be assisted individually as well as in small groups, where basic academic skills in language arts, mathematics and science will be enhanced.  Those students with special needs will also be accommodated in accordance with their IEPs.  Technology skills will include web design as well as music editing.  Our parental involvement will include four components for family advocacy:  Basic Support, Social Support, Educational Support, and Leadership Support.  Parents will join and participate in events and field trips.  Our Educational Arts Team will provide students with opportunities to perform in drama and art-related activities.  There will also be cultural and arts enrichment opportunities for our students.  Our recreational opportunities will include martial arts, dance, and basketball.
