The Linden 21st Century Community Learning Center is an after school program for students in grades six through eight at Joseph E. Soehl Middle School. The program coordinates activities from 2:45-5:45 pm each day that regular school is in session. The 21st Century Community Learning Center integrates STEM activities throughout each program day.
The after school program day is divided into three separate components: Homework Tutorial, Enrichment and Recreation. The Homework Tutorial Class offers students an opportunity to prepare for their upcoming assignments and projects. The enrichment classes are offered on a rotating basis such as Language Arts, Mathematics, STEM, Media Technology, Physical Education and Character Education. Various recreational classes are provided to the participants such as Open Gym, Technology, Yoga, Jewelry Making, Interactive Game Room, Art, Photography and many more. The program also offers counseling sessions for participants along with a daily nutritional snack.
The 21st Century Community Learning Center also provides monthly parenting university workshops, family nights, class trips, community service learning, guest speakers and assemblies.
