APPLICATION SELECTION CRITERIA
Schools/districts will be selected on the basis of the information provided in the application. Schools/districts may apply that do not yet have a fully implemented world languages program at every grade level in Grades K-8.
- Assessment results will be utilized primarily for the purpose of providing data to districts to assist with program improvement. Districts will not be penalized if assessment results donot meet program expectations.
- 20,000- 25,000 students will be assessed in each year of the three-year project.
- The department will establish correlations between local factors such as socioeconomicstatus, program model and student performance to conduct action research at the state level. This data will provide the basis for recommendations for overall improvement of student performance statewide.
