“When I came here, I couldn’t understand English; but now, I can understand because teacher taught me English. If I talked to teacher and she showed me a smile, it gave me a lot of relief because I was so afraid about talking to someone. I always thought, “If teacher couldn’t understand what I said…” It made me more afraid. Teacher was talking slowly every time and teacher used easy vocabulary words. It really helped me a lot.
