New Jersey Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages/ New Jersey Bilingual Education – Records at the Puerto Rican Community Archives
The New Jersey Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages/ New Jersey Bilingual Education – Records are housed in the Puerto Rican Community Archive (PRCA) of the NJ Hispanic Research & Information Center at The Newark Public Library. They consists of information on teaching bilingual education, the organization, and activities hosted by the organization. The bulk of the collection consists of administrative files such as minutes to meetings and newsletters. Interestingly, the minutes from the very first meeting, held in 1969, are located in the archive. The records' dates range from 1967 – 2015; accruals are added about every two years. The bulk of the collection is in English with some Spanish language materials. Some of the types of records found in the collection consist of: photographs, correspondence, VHS recordings, publications, and programs.
