Brief Overview
The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) program is operated by the National Science Foundation (NSF) on behalf of the White House. Since its inception in 1983, PAEMST has provided national recognition for nearly 3,000 outstanding elementary and secondary mathematics and science teachers in the 50 states and U.S. territories, including 60 New Jersey educators. Awardees participate in a recognition program in Washington, D.C., and receive a $10,000 grant from the NSF.
