Susan Poage has been a kindergarten teacher in Berkeley Heights, NJ since 2001. She received a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education with Distinction from Kean University in 2007. An Alpha Epsilon Lambda National Graduate Honor Society member, Mrs. Poage was nominated to serve as the commencement speaker at her graduation. As an educator, Mrs. Poage is committed to providing meaningful, hands-on experiences for her students. In alignment with this goal, Mrs. Poage wrote and secured two grants to build an outdoor classroom.

Mrs. Poage strongly believes in providing a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment for her students. She encourages her students to care about themselves, each other, and the world around them as they develop as life-long learners, thinkers, and risk-takers.
