Correction
To clarify previous statements by DOE officials, New Jersey statutes do prohibit fraternities and sororities at public high schools.NJSA 18A:42-6. Organizations forbidden in high schools; rules;
exceptions. No such fraternity, sorority, society or organization
shall be formed or maintained in any public high school, and the board
of education of every school district shall adopt rules providing for
the necessary disciplinary measures to enforce this section.
This section shall not apply to any state college.
