ADVISORY: TEACHER TOWN MEETING SCHEDULED TODAY
Governor James E. McGreevey and Commissioner of Education William L. Librera will host a Teacher Town Meeting for Bergen County educators on today, June 5, in Paramus. The meeting takes place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Paramus High School, East Century Road.
Reporters and photographers are invited and encouraged to attend to cover this event. The meeting will take place in the schools cafeteria.
Governor McGreevey and Commissioner Librera have pledged to meet with teachers in every county in the state in order to both explain the administrations 21-point educational reform plan and establish an open dialogue with teachers on education issues. Thursdays meeting is the seventh in a series of such events.
The Teacher Town Meeting provides an open format for teachers and educators to question the Governor and Commissioner on a wide range of state-level education initiatives and policies. At each Teacher Town Meeting, Governor McGreevey and Commissioner Librera outline the specific steps the Department of Education is taking to implement the Governors education reform agenda.
