Commissioner Librera Participates in Launch of Just for the KidsNew Jersey
Commissioner of Education William L. Librera today helped Governor James E. McGreevey, New Jerseys business leaders and representatives of the states education community launch a new school improvement program called Just for the Kids New Jersey.
The program features a Web site that allows visitors to compare their schools academic performance against successful models. The site will also enable education leaders to tap into practices that have effectively enhanced student achievement.
"Just for the Kids New Jersey points us in the right direction to improve our schools by identifying the practices that result in high student achievement, and then help lower-achieving schools implement these effective practices," said Governor McGreevey. "This is another example of how we can improve our schools by working together."
Just for the Kids New Jersey is open to the public and funded by the Business Coalition for Educational Excellence at the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. The site can be accessed through the following link:
