MEDIA ADVISORY

WHAT: Commissioner of Education William L. Librera will announce New Jersey’s 2004 preliminary Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) results under the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.
WHEN: Today, Wednesday, September 29.
11:00 a.m. A news release, a list of the schools that did not make AYP and a list of schools in sanction status will be issued at 11:00 a.m. on the Department of Education’s Web site (www.state.nj.us/education). The news release will also be sent to those receiving this advisory directly and made available on the GENS network.
12:00 noon There will be a 12:00 noon conference call/media availability with the Commissioner and other DOE staff members. Participation in this call is limited to members of the media.
