DOE Sponsoring Special Education Placement Workshop
The New Jersey Department of Education (DOE) and the Passaic County Community College are sponsoring a workshop entitled Special Education: Addressing Disproportionate Placements on Thursday, April 21st at the Passaic County Public Safety Academy located at 300 Oldham Road in Wayne, New Jersey. The program will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 1:00 PM.
The workshop will focus on the over classification and disproportionate placement of minority students in special education programs. The DOE, Office of Special Education Programs, will discuss its efforts to address these issues and a local school district will present the initiatives being implemented in their schools to improve district processes.
The registration fee for the event is $50.00 and includes breakfast, lunch and published
materials. All interested persons may register for the workshop online at:
