DOE HOSTS ASSESSMENT WORKSHOP

“Rubric’s Cube:  Solving the Assessment Puzzle,” is the title of a two-day workshop for educators to be hosted by the Department of Education on December 14-15 at the Passaic County Public Safety Academy in Wayne.  Participants will be guided through the process of developing rubrics, creating meaningful assessments and analyzing student work.  Attendees are encouraged to bring samples of student work to this event.

Leading the workshop will be Dr. Willa Spicer, director of the New Jersey Performance Assessment Alliance.  Dr. Spicer is a career educator who has served as a classroom teacher and school administrator in New Jersey public schools, including Trenton and most recently South Brunswick, in which she served as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction before her recent retirement.

The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on each day.  For on-line registration, visit:
