DOE to Host Special Education Seminar
Dr. Kathleen Rotter will speak about managing special education costs during a workshop sponsored by the Department of Education’s Northern Region and Passaic County Community College on Thursday, Feb. 9.
Limited seating is available for the workshop, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Passaic County Public Safety Academy in Wayne. The registration fee is $80. For additional information, please contact Meredith Coticchio at (973) 684-6126.
Dr. Rotter specializes in both special education legal issues and the inclusion of students with mild disabilities at The College of New Jersey, where she is an assistant professor of special education.
She will cover the following topics during the workshop: special education laws, professional development for general education teachers, and developing an effective referral process.
In addition to the Northern Region workshops, the DOE’s Central and Southern regions are hosting several professional development workshops throughout the year.
