NJ Department of Education Today Released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Teaching Practice Evaluation Instruments

Trenton, NJ – The Department of Education today released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) that will allow eligible entities to submit teaching evaluation instruments for state approval. Instruments that meet the state’s technical requirements will be placed on a list and become allowable for use by local districts, pending district procurement of the instrument, to meet the requirements of the new teacher evaluation system that will be rolled out statewide in school year 2013-14. Details of the application process and the criteria are in the RFQ.
Eligible Entities: current teaching evaluation instrument providers; local school districts; other stakeholders; and others outlined in the RFQ.
Application Period:
There are multiple submission periods between July 30, 2012 through November 30, 2012
All school districts must have selected an instrument by December 31, 2012.
