2014 Curriculum Standards Public Review and Comment
Every five years, the State Board of Education is required to review and re-adopt the Core Curriculum Content Standards.
The re-adoption process is being conducted in two parts. The review of the first set of standards has concluded and was adopted by the State Board on July 9, 2014 and included: Visual & Performing Arts, Comprehensive Health & Physical Education, Science, World Language, Social Studies, Mathematics and English Language Arts and Preschool. The review of the second set of standards is scheduled to be brought before the State Board for discussion at the August 6, 2014 State Board meeting and will include Technology and 21st Century Life and Careers.
Educators and others interested in speaking at any of the public hearings for the second set of standards must register below using the appropriate link. Sessions for the second set of standards will be conducted beginning at 4 p.m. at the following locations:

Second Set of Standards to Be Adopted
The public review and comment period is open from Aug. 4 to Sept. 17, 2014. However, the period to register to comment on the second set of Standards opens on Friday, July 25, 2014.
