I. MACRO STATEMENT

EXPLAIN HOW TECHNOLOGY IS USED TO HELP PEOPLE.


II. KNOWLEDGE STATEMENTS

A STUDENT SHOULD KNOW THAT:

A. TECHNOLOGY CAN BE DESCRIBED AS USING TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES TO
     SOLVE PROBLEMS.

  1. People have always made tools to extend their senses and to do things they could not otherwise do.
  2. Animals, including humans, are able to control some conditions around them to meet their needs. For example:
    1. Humans increase the amount of a foodstuff produced, by providing favorable conditions for its growth, that is, by farming.
    2. Humans can compensate for difficulties or disabilities by controlling the environment.

A STUDENT SHOULD KNOW OF:

B. WAYS THAT TECHNOLOGY HELPS PEOPLE.

  1. A large number of people benefit from the goods and services provided by transportation, communication, nutrition, sanitation, health care, entertainment, and other technologies.
