A STUDENT SHOULD KNOW THAT:
A. SCIENCE USES MATHEMATICS AS A TOOL TO DETERMINE
AND SUPPORT CONCLUSIONS.

SKILL STATEMENTS
TO UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPTS OUTLINED ABOVE,
A STUDENT SHOULD BE ABLE TO:
- Perform mathematical operations based on
the degree of precision of the input data.
- Interpret data using graphs, spreadsheets
and databases.
- Formulate mathematical relationships from
collected data.
- Use appropriate mathematical tools to collect,
display, model and analyze data.
- Evaluate possible effects of measurement
errors on calculations.
- Explain the physical relationship expressed
by mathematical equations.
- Use computer spreadsheets, graphing, and
database programs to assist in quantitative analysis.
- Use mathematical models for scientific
inquiry.
