Scorers made the following comments about the sample below:
This response has an opening and an overall progression of events. The student's use of descriptive language strengthens the paper. (A loud crackkkk was heard in the distance. The sky opened up, and torrents of rain fell from the sky.). However, uneven development of details, such as one character, Billy, not a part of any group that participates in the triathalon, keeps this paper at the adequate level.
