The following writing sample for the Writing To Speculate Prompt "C" scored a "3" based on the New Jersey Registered Holistic Scoring Rubric.
Scorers made the following comments about the sample below:
This response has an opening and progresses from beginning to end. Development of the story with dialogue is evident. ("Mom, Mom, can I go over to grandfather Joe's house today" adam said.) There is a pattern of errors in sentence construction, punctuation and capitalization which indicate a partial command of the language.
