There are several steps needed to ensure that this project is accomplished smoothly.
- Talk to the adminstration in order to ensure support. This is important, since, as stated in the letter to the parents:
"The movie is rated PG-13. During the movie there are some adult topics brought up – bullying, addiction, and some profanity. If you would rather not have your child watch the movie, please send in a note with your child addressed to your child’s Language Arts Literacy teacher or emailed to the teacher. All work for the project will still be required. Viewing the movie is not necessary for completing assignments or acts of kindness associated with the project work." Parent Letter of Introduction to the video and project |
- Budget (initial and ongoing) is fairly minimal, but may vary with student need. Parents and/or the PTA may need to be brought into this process.
- Work with the t echnology coordinator to ensure that the movie is ready for use in the classroom - if necessary (in case you don't have facilities ready in your classroom)
- Partnerships necessary for possible volunteer work (such as PTA, fellow teachers, community organizations and businesses, or even colleagues or students in another states.
