Technology Integration
  • Student utilize the internet as another tool for thier projet research. For example, a portaportal site (www.portaportal.com) is incorporated to help facilitate and organize the research process.
  • A digital camera and scanner is used to document student work that will be transmitted via e-mail to the partner school.
  • A class e-mail account is established for each homeroom class.
    • This e-mail account is set up through the school district e-mail program by the district technology department.
    • A separate account is established for each class with the title "Class Byatt" or "Class Collins".
    • This allows students to easily access information and provides a format for teachers to monitor the exchange of information.
  • Student utilize graphic organizers as a means to summarize and categorize information.
  • Videotaping is used to document the “Two Trails for One Cause” walk and to exhibit the student pioneer wagon presentations.
