Picture Prompt Writing Task
One writing task begins with a picture that serves as a prompt for a story. The setting and
characters portrayed in the picture suggest an event or relationship that you are invited to develop
and describe through a story. In this activity you may speculate about what has happened, what is
happening, or what will happen at some other time. Use your imagination to create a good story
that is detailed and vivid. The answer folder will provide two lined pages for your writing.
