The New Jersey Department of Education is committed to supporting district and individual efforts to ensure that all teachers in core academic subjects are highly qualified by the end of 2005-2006 and is providing: NJDOE Role
Timelines

No consequences for individual teachers in terms of job loss if they have not yet satisfied the federal definition of a Highly Qualified Teacher.
New federal level information will be made available promptly;
Training to districts and schools will be available via county and regional offices; and
Support through the department website will be available, such as
       information on the web
       downloadable forms,
       frequently asked questions,
       an email address (HQTeachers@doe.state.nj.us), and
       a phone number: 609-984-5322
