Introduction to Module

According to the National Reading Panel's publication Put Reading First: The Research Building Blocks for Teaching Children to Read, “Comprehension is the reason for reading. If readers can read the words but do not understand what they are reading, they are not really reading. As they read, good readers are both purposeful and active.”

Throughout this video module, participants will have the opportunity to examine elements of text comprehension. They will see how students preview, visualize, and summarize text as a whole class and in small groups.
