Overview

In this segment of the video, the teacher guides students in visualizing what is happening to the characters in the story.

Teaching Idea: Mind and Alternative Mind Portraits

The teacher has a drawing of the two main characters in the story taped to the chalkboard. Listen to the teacher's questions as she guides the class discussion. This instructional strategy helps students to focus on the reasons why the characters behave as they do.

Note:  Students infer, compare, and contrast (comprehension skills) as they participate in this activity.
