Overview

In this segment of the video, the teacher reads portions of the story, periodically stopping to ask comprehension questions to check for student understanding of the passage. She can use students responses to guide her as she makes instructional decisions.

Notice how the teacher not only asks comprehension questions but leads the class in a discussion about what has happened in the story, allowing students to interact with each other by responding to the answers given to teacher questions.
