All About Alliteration: Responding to Literature Through a Poetry Link This lesson for third and fourth grade students uses a read aloud to teach about alliteration. Students create and illustrate a poem using the poetry they have read as a framework for their writing.
Collaborative Stories 1: Prewriting and Drafting This lesson involves students in two prewriting activities and two collaborative-writing activities where they draft an "oversized" story on chart paper. This lesson can be adapted to for use in an interactive writing activity. Grades K-2.
Collaborative Stories 2: Revising The teacher leads this shared-revising activity to help students consider story content. Students participate in the marking of text and revising. This lesson can be adapted to for use in an interactive writing activity. Grades K-2.
