Guidance - Student Inquiry Overview The teacher presents the beginning of a K-W-L chart. The K section of the chart has all the background knowledge information that the students shared about puppets. The second section of the chart has a "W" which stands for "What." What do the students want to know about the topic under discussion? In this case, what do they want to know about puppets. The teacher records the students' questions under the "W" section of the chart. To further motivate the students, the teacher presents a problem-solving activity.
