Whole Group Instruction - Shared Reading
Now that you've viewed the video and read the Guidance section of this module:
- Before implementing the portions of the video segment activity:
- Select a story that has repetitive, predictable text.
- Review the story. In particular, look for pages that would lend themselves to possible phonemic awareness mini-lessons.
- Consider how some of the mini-lessons could be reinforced or further developed in small group or center activities.
- Think about how you will give additional support to students who are having difficulty.
- Try some of the strategies presented in the video segment.
