Rubrics are designed to help the student
take on the burden of learning. This means that the rubric is often
given to the student (or group of students) so that they have a
clear idea of the standards they need to meet. The levels indicated
in the rubric scale help guide the student as to necessary criteria.
Because rubrics are designed for the "consumer" they are organized with the learner in mind. This means that the outcomes (which were based on the district objectives) are reorganized into areas which are listed in a student-friendly manner. In this case, we have four possible divisions for the rubric, based on the tasks assigned to the student::
