1.1 assists educators in acquiring content knowledge within their own discipline(s) and in application(s) to other disciplines. • Content: News, Journals, Research

• Online Courses: courses via New Jersey universities and county colleges; and via organizations and universities around the world. See the "content" column in each section of the site.
• PBS Campus
1.2 enables classroom professionals to help students achieve the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards (CCCS).

• Workshops: hands-on workshops in science, language arts literacy and math; and continual hands-on workshops for all grade bands in science, math and language arts, and inclusion and special education.
• Tutorials: elementary, Grade Eight Proficiency Assessment (GEPA), and High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA) Helpful Hints; HSPA Classroom Practice (Math and Language Arts Literacy, with SRA items); and Secondary (GEPA/HSPA) School Writing Assistance.

 • Rutgers Center for Mathematics, Science, and Computer Education Professional Development Programs for Grade K-12 Teachers of Mathematics.
• NJIT's K-12 Science Educators Program.
• Stevens Center for Improved Engineering and Science Education's Classroom Projects.
1.3 routinely reviews the alignment of professional development content with CCCS and with the frameworks in all disciplines. • Workshops (both hands-on and online).
