About CTE Submission

NJ SMART introduced the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Submission in the 2009-2010 School Year. The CTE Submission collects a set of data elements that provide a more comprehensive picture of students that are enrolled in CTE programs. The collection of this data at the student level allows for improved data quality and capacity for CTE administrators and stakeholders. CTE Submission eliminates the Vocational Education Data System (VEDS) collection.  The CTE Submission is required for all LEAs that have a Career and Technical Education program.

Key Dates

Please refer to the following dates for CTE Submission events. Remember, all submission data is erased at the close of Practice Periods or Local Data Mart deadlines in preparation for the Official Submission. Save a copy of your practice files.

• April 15, 2013: Open: Practice CTE Submission (2012-2013 School Year)
• June 28, 2013: Close: Practice CTE Submission (2012-2013 School Year)
• July 5, 2013: Open: Official CTE Submission (2012-2013 School Year)
• August 2, 2013:  Close: Official CTE Submission (2012-2013 School Year)
