With funding and support from a national project administered by the Wallace Foundation, a New Jersey consortium of education policymakers and stakeholders worked collaboratively to provide recommendations to build strong instructional leadership through policy reforms in the preparation, licensure, development, and conditions of work for school leaders. The project is called the State Action for Educational Leadership Project (SAELP).
Based on those recommendations from the SAELP Consortium, in December 2003 the New Jersey State Board of Education adopted new regulations to strengthen school leadership and align policies to Professional Standards for School Leaders in September 2004. This web site expands the Professional Development for School Leaders Initiative resources (such as PowerPoint and code references) in support of the school leaders professional growth plan. |
