Lois Brown Easton

Lois Brown Easton has served as director of professional development at Eagle Rock School and Professional Development Center in Estes Park, Colorado and as director of Re:Learning Systems, a partnership between the Coalition of Essential Schools and the Education Commission of the States. Before that, Easton worked in the Arizona Department of Education as English/language arts coordinator and as director of curriculum and instruction, designing and implementing the Arizona Student Assessment Program. A middle school English teacher for 15 years, Easton has held state and national offices and was co-chair of the 2001 NSDC Annual Conference in Denver. A frequent presenter at conferences and a contributor to educational journals, she wrote The Other Side of Curriculum: Lessons From Learners (Heinemann, 2001) and is the editor of Powerful Designs for Professional Learning (NSDC, 2004).
