Executive Director: David Hardy
Bio: David Hardy David Hardy is the Executive Director for the NJDOE's Region 6 Regional Achievement Center which serves Camden and Burlington Counties. In his role, he oversees the mission of New Jersey's Regional Achievement Centers to work in partnership with struggling schools and their districts to set clear goals for student growth, put proven turnaround principles into action, and use data to drive decision-making and accountability. Prior to joining the Camden RAC, Mr. Hardy was the founding principal at Achievement First East New York Middle School which is part of a non-profit Charter Management Organization that operates a growing network of some of the highest- performing K-12 public schools in Connecticut and New York. As the school leader, Mr. Hardy led his school to the highest academic achievement scores in his district after its first year and second years, and over 90% of his parents rated their school an "A" on the yearly parent evaluation. Prior to founding Achievement First East New York Middle School, Mr. Hardy served as a principal-in-residence and dean of students at Achievement First Bushwick Middle School. He spent the first five years of his career in education as a Teach For America corps member in Miami-Dade County, and during his final year in Miami, he served as a curriculum support specialist for the School Improvement Zone, where he provided instructional support to two of the lowest-performing elementary schools in Miami-Dade County. Mr. Hardy earned his B.A. in economics from Colgate University, his M.A. from St. Thomas University, and is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Urban Education Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.
