    “A formalized plan and process that involves students setting learning goals based on personal, academic and career interests, beginning in the middle school grades and continuing throughout high school with the close support of adult mentors that include teachers, counselors and parents.” (New Jersey Administrative Code N.J.A.C. 6A:8-1.3 – Standards and Assessment for Student Achievement)

    NEW JERSEY CAREER ASSISTANCE NAVIGATOR (NJCAN)
    The New Jersey Career Assistance Navigator (NJCAN), www.njcan.org, is designed to support lifelong career exploration, and career planning and decision-making through easy to use, straightforward search and sorting utilities, and an online portfolio for saving information from all system components.  School districts and educational institutions interested in using NJCAN should contact Dedrea Kelly, Research Technician at the Center for Occupational Employment Information at dedrea.kelly@dol.state.nj.us for registration information.
