Online Books/E-Text - Site to download scanned in books in various categories at different reading levels to be read by text-to-speech software. - Site to download print books in various categories at different reading levels. - Children’s Literature Web Guide.  Site categorizes internet resources related to books for children and young adults. - Project Gutenberg Hart has largest collection of free eBooks.  Includes “light” literature, such as “Alice in Wonderland,” “Peter Pan,” and “Aesop’s Fables”; “heavy” literature, such as the Bible, Shakespeare, and “Moby Dick”; and reference works such as dictionaries, almanacs, and Roget’s Thesaurus. - The University of Maryland’s International Children’s Digital Library selects, collects, digitizes, and organizes children’s materials in their original languages for access and use by children 3-13 years old. - The Digital Book Index – provides links to more than 88,000 titles from commercial and non-commercial publishers, universities, and various private sites.  About 49,900 of these books, text, and documents are available free, while many others are available at a very modest cost. - Interactive storybooks for young children. - Click on “Copyright” then “Public Domain Resources” for links to websites offering free books-on-line. - Assistive Media provides free-of-charge, copyright-approved, high caliber audio literary works to the world-wide disability community via the internet. - The Internet Public Library - Public Library on the internet, Kidspace provides resources for parents and teachers to use in helping their kids to learn in various subject areas including math, science, reading and the arts. - Library of Congress has more than 10 million primary sources online for teachers including lesson plans, classroom activities, digital books and more.
