Title IV, Part A – Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities
The Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act supports programs to prevent violence in and around schools; prevent the illegal use of alcohol, drugs, and tobacco by young people; and foster a safe and drug-free learning environment that supports academic achievement.

Title IV, Part A, Subpart 3 – Gun-Free Requirements
The Gun-Free Schools Act requires each state that receives funds under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), to have in effect a state law requiring districts to expel for at least one year any student who brings a gun to school or possesses a gun in school.

Title IV, Part B – 21st Century Community Learning Centers
This program provides services, during nonschool hours or periods, to students and their families for academic enrichment, including tutorial and other services to help students – particularly those who attend low-performing schools – to meet state and local student academic achievement standards.

Title IV, Part C – Environmental Tobacco Smoke
The Pro-Children Act of 2001 prohibits smoking in buildings used to provide children under 18 with regular or routine health care, day care, education, or library services.
