Business, Economic Experts Support Governor Corzine's Economic Recovery Initiatives
TRENTON - Below are statements from business, workforce, and economy experts supporting Governor Jon S. Corzine's economic approach:

"As the Federal Reserve in Philadelphia affirmed, there are clear signs that New Jersey is beginning to pull out of the worst national economic crisis in 60 years, with private sector job growth trending upward, along with home sales and construction jobs.  At EDA, we've seen a dramatic increase in the number of businesses that want to take advantage of our incentives to bring jobs to New Jersey.  But there is much more work to do to achieve long term job growth. We must continue to encourage businesses to come here and expand here using our natural advantages, and to develop and support New Jersey's workforce through innovation and training to attain 21st century jobs."  Carl Van Horn, Chairman, New Jersey Economic Development Authority and Professor of Public Policy and Director, John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development, Rutgers University

"Governor Corzine has always been there for the working men and women of New Jersey, and his early recognition that we needed to make investing in major building projects a priority has helped put thousands of people to work when they needed it most and when our state needed these jobs the most."   Bill Mullen, President, New Jersey State Building and Construction Trades Council

"The reasons are multitude why we are very happy and proud to be headquartered here in New Jersey.  The workforce here in New Jersey is without a doubt probably the best-educated, best-experienced and most productive workforce that we've encountered. Our employees are our company - they make the growth happen.  We have a tremendous education system here in New Jersey with Rutgers, NJIT, Rowan and Princeton.  We find that the talent pool from the schools and bringing up new talent into our organization is tremendous. I can tell you without any hyperbole - our company would not be standing here today without the policies and programs that have been rolled out by Governor Corzine, his Administration, and the State of New Jersey."  Dale Cline, President and CEO, netForensics (Text from Press Conference 9/15/09).

"The investments the Corzine Administration is making in infrastructure make good economic sense - especially during a downturn.  Projects that bolster transit, roads, bridges, parks, and water systems not only create jobs but also leave a lasting legacy of improvements that can be realized for generations.  Vital infrastructure projects like the Mass Transit Tunnel are an excellent example of government spending at the right time. Without healthy infrastructure systems, the dense concentration of businesses and variety of neighborhoods that give the region its unique competitive advantage in the global economy could not be supported."  Bob Yaro, President, Regional Plan Association
