Lt. Governor Guadagno Connects New Jersey Businesses With Resources for Growth

Lakewood Event Eases Access to Incentives and Programs for Business Community

Trenton, NJ – Keeping New Jersey’s programs accessible to the state’s business community, Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno today addressed approximately 100 business owners at the New Jersey Business Action Center’s (BAC) Resources for Business Growth event held in Lakewood.

“Today, we bring Trenton to our businesses to share the resources and programs available to keep them growing in the Garden State,” said Lt. Governor Guadagno.  “This ongoing dialogue is crucial to businesses of all sizes, and we have representatives here from government departments and industry partners eager to meet the unique needs of our businesses.”

The Lt. Governor and the BAC have hosted twelve previous Resources for Business Growth events throughout the state over the past several years, and additional events are being planned for the spring and summer. Today’s event focused on manufacturing and exporting but welcomed businesses of all industries to meet with federal, state and county representatives and community partners to learn more about the resources available to New Jersey’s businesses. One such resource is the New Jersey State Trade and Export Promotion (NJ STEP) Program, which is funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and provides sub-grants to small businesses pursuing opportunities for international export.  In 2014, 42 companies received grants through NJ STEP that resulted in 24 new jobs and more than $3.6 million in actual export sales.  In 2015, New Jersey’s grant award from SBA was increased to a total of $275,000.  More information on the program can be found online at:
