Lt. Governor Guadagno Attends Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce Business Roundtable

Discusses the Region, Tourism, and its Impact to New Jersey’s Economy

Trenton, NJ – Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno today addressed the Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce Business Roundtable in Toms River. She stressed the importance of New Jersey’s shore towns and their impact on the tourism industry.

“The Greater Toms River area is an ideal place to establish a business presence. With the help of this administration, since 2010, more than 40,000 jobs have been created and 52,000 have been retained here in Ocean County,” said Lt. Governor Guadagno. “This is proof of a hard working community that is continuing on the right track.”

Toms River and other Ocean County shore town businesses are important components of New Jersey’s tourism industry. This past year, New Jersey again set a record with the tourism industry accounting for $43.4 billion in economic impact – a 3.4% increase over last year.

“The Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation is proud to be able to partner with the Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce, Ocean County Tourism and Business Development and Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno to address important issues that impact our ability to maximize business growth in our great county,” said Jay Grunin, Chairman of the Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce. “As the home to the largest commuter population in the state, the second largest senior population in the country and the largest veteran population in the country, there are both unique challenges and opportunities that we can explore together in hopes of creating a template for economic success, replicable throughout New Jersey and the country.”

The Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce supports economic growth as well as job creation, and its membership includes hundreds of businesses in Ocean County.
