Governor’s Inauguration
Chris Christie was inaugurated as the 55th Governor of New Jersey on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. The inauguration is a special series of events and ceremonies to welcome and honor the governor as he officially undertakes his new responsibilities.
For the first time in New Jersey History, a Lieutenant Governor took office on January 19, 2010. Kim Guadagno was sworn in as New Jersey’s first Lieutenant Governor.
The festivities for Governor Chris Christie and Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno began with a Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, NJ before the official swearing-in ceremony at the War Memorial in Trenton. |
