It's hard to believe but in the last 10 years across the United States

misuse of syringes and medication vials

has resulted in the possible exposure of more than 100,000 patients

to bloodborne illnesses such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV

Hello, I'm Dr. Barbara Montana from the NJ Dept of Health and Senior Serivces

Every year millions of injections are given in this country.

Every one of them should be safe.

Unfortunately, here in NJ and across the country,

we have seen infections linked to poor injection practices.

NJ is proud to be a part of the Safe Injection Practices Coalition.

It is everyone's responsibility to make sure every injection is safe

by using ONE needle, ONE syringe, only ONE time!
