Alison Gibson

Assistant Commissioner
Division of Health Facilities Evaluation and Licensing

Alison Gibson is the Assistant Commissioner, Division of Health Facilities Evaluation and Licensing. She is responsible for the oversight of over 2000 licensed and/or Medicare Certified health care providers and facilities. The division is comprised of three offices; the Office of Certificate of Need and Licensing, the Office of Assessment and Survey, and the Office of Program Compliance and Health Care Financing.

Ms. Gibson has been with the Department for eight years as the Director of acute care survey and for the past four years has incorporated long term care survey in to the role.  Prior to coming to the Department, she gained over twenty years of hospital inpatient and outpatient clinical and managerial experience in New Jersey.

She is a registered nurse, a graduate of Dundee University, Scotland and received both a BS in Nursing and master’s degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University, Camden.
