Neela Sookdeo, MSW, JD Equal Employment Opportunity Officer Neela Sookdeo is responsible for the operation of the Office of Diversity and Equity Services at the New Jersey Department of Health. Ms. Sookdeo’s responsibilities include the development, coordination and implementation of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action (AA) programs as required by federal and State law. Her duties include investigating discrimination complaints, reviewing policies and procedures, training employees and coordinating special projects. In 2005, Ms. Sookdeo began employment with the Department in the Office of Legal and Regulatory Compliance. Prior to working with the Department, Ms. Sookdeo worked as a Deputy Attorney General and a law clerk to the Hon. Edwin H. Stern (Ret.) at the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. Ms. Sookdeo earned a BA in Psychology with a Minor in Women’s Studies at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Ms. Sookdeo also earned a MSW at Rutgers Graduate School of Social Work and a JD at Rutgers School of Law both in Camden, New Jersey.
