H1N1 Radio and Television Public Service Announcements (PSAs)

Governor Corzine and Health Commissioner Heather Howard are implementing New Jersey’s comprehensive plan to protect against seasonal and H1N1 influenza.

The Commissioner recorded these PSAs to help people learn how to protect themselves and their families from the flu.  Individuals and organizations are invited to post these PSAs on their websites to share this important information.

    People are encouraged to get their seasonal flu shots now.


    Hi, I’m Heather Howard, Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, reminding you that flu season is approaching. Influenza is a serious illness. It is important you protect yourself and your family every year from the Seasonal Flu. Don’t wait. Governor Corzine and I encourage you to get your Seasonal Flu shot now. It takes less time than you think. Log on to nj.gov/health for more information and to find out where you can get vaccinated.

    I’m Heather Howard, Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. With flu season upon us, we all need to do our part to prevent the spread of the flu. Governor Corzine and I are implementing New Jersey’s comprehensive plan to protect against H1N1Influenza. It starts with common sense measures like, cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your sleeve, wash your hands frequently with soap and water, and if you’re sick, please stay home. Go to nj.gov/health to learn other ways you can do your part to keep New Jersey healthy.

    People are encouraged to get the seasonal flu shot and the H1N1 shot in October. The vaccine will be covered by insurance and will be free for the uninsured.

In the meantime, get your Seasonal Flu shot now. Governor Corzine and I encourage you to go back for your H1N1 vaccination when it becomes available in October.
